		<description>You are right, the &quot;Java slowness&quot; is nowadays a myth.

I use Java (Java 6u21 is the latest, get it from www.Java.com) and applets load faster than some bloated Flash based sites....

Plus Java has one advantage that Flash wont ever have: it´s Free Software (GPL License), hence it will live on and it´s not tied to the future of a single company.
